Online Sourcing

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: MEDIUM TO ADVANCED

The most popular training I offer covers a wide range of sourcing platforms and techniques. This workshop is designed for experienced recruiters who use online methods of reaching candidates, but are looking to take their skills to the next level. Learn how to make the most out of popular sourcing platforms, gain proficiency in Boolean Search and develop the perfect sourcing process.

Duration: 8 – 10 hours

Part I. Effective sourcing: attitude and process

The first part of the training will aim at understanding your recruitment and current sourcing process better through a discussion. This will allow us to adjust the sourcing methods discussed later to your specific needs. We will discuss how  to increase response rates and look at examples of approach messages to candidates that work on different platforms.

Part II. Boolean search workshop (including x-ray search)

We start with a quick review of the changes in Google search that impact simple Boolean Search. We will go through the most common operators and commands in a series of practical tasks, working on your current roles. The goal is to be able to not only to identify candidates easily but also discover new niche networks and forums as they appear online.

Part III. Identifying candidates on social media

The third part of the training starts with a quick overview of LinkedIn and how to make sure you use all of its features not just for search but also building your network. The larger chunk of this session will focus on social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram – as well as others depending on your preferences. You will learn to identify candidates on these platforms, use them for further research and/or contacting candidates.

Part IV. Tools of a modern sourcer

In the final part of the training we will refer back to the recruitment process map to identify steps that can be automated with sourcing or recruitment tools. We will also cover free sourcing tools to help you source faster, improve your sourcing effectiveness and measure sourcing results. All of the tools covered will be free or low budget, quick to implement an adjusted to the tools already used by the team.
